Jan's Reward - New Again!

Jan Box received her reward February 20, 2006. Her body has been made new, her faith is now reality, and she has joined the chorus around her Lord’s Throne. Her family and friends grieve deeply the loss of her earthly life while rejoicing that her victory is sure.

Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Thursday (2/23/06) at Richland Hills Church of Christ with graveside service immediately following at Mount Olivet. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00PM Wednesday (2/22/06) at Mount Olivet.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Light for the Aja Mission in Benin, West Africa. Donations for this may be made to Richland Hills Church of Christ with Vaughn in the memo.

Jan was born January 26, 1942 in Hobart, Oklahoma. She moved, with her family, to Fort Worth in the early 1950s. Jan met the love of her life at the age of fifteen when she crossed paths with Don Box. They were married four years later on December 21, 1961. Forty- four years later they still thrilled at time together.

Jan worked as an office manager at Colleyville Animal Clinic for a time. However, her greatest joys came from the time she worked as wife, mom, and “Nana”. Her husband, children, and grandchildren loved claiming her as best friend. Jan lived each day to the fullest. She was full of joy and had a zest for life that was contagious. She was a longtime member of Richland Hills Church of Christ where she was active in Youth, Singles, and Missions Ministry. She leaves behind a family of faith that loved her dearly.

Her family is united in looking forward to a joyful reunion.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents, John Harvey and Nina Fay Davis and brother, Bobby Glen Davis

Jan’s legacy lives on in: Husband, Don M. Box; Daughter Julie Jones and husband Rusty; Daughter Kellye Stone and husband Craig; and Son, Chris Box. Grandchildren: Ryan, Rylee, and Jaycee Jones; Cade, Caleb and Claire Stone; Nicholas and Karlee Box; and countless others impacted by her life.

Comments:
Don, you and your family are in our prayers! I wish we could be there to hug you personally. When I told Samuel that Ms. Jan had gone to heaven and that now she was talking and singing and dancing, he said he was glad she was with Jesus now. Your family is so special to us and we will miss Jan's beautiful smile and her amazingly positive attitude, but we look forward to a great reunion one day. Know that you are loved and we are honored to know you and to have known Jan during this journey.
All our love,
David, Shelley, Samuel & Jeremiah

Dear Don, our hearts and prayers are with you and your family.
In tonight's bible study we read Rev 19:9 Then the angel said to me, "Write the following: Blessed are those who are invited to the banquet at the wedding celebration of the Lamb!". What an invitation and what a joy that will be. God be with you. Love, Manuel and Pam

Dear Don,

You and Jan are so dear to us, and we feel your loss and ours with sadness.

We are certain that with Jan as with you, Don, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. So we celebrate with you, your dear partner, who has finished the race, who has fought the good fight, who has kept the faith.

With you and the holy apostles we confess that there is nothing more precious in the eyes of the Lord than those who die in Jesus. We love you and look forward to the next time we can hug your neck.

So we say with confidence,
"The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?"

and because of your special ministry on our behalf and of so many around the world and at home we think of Paul's challenge and your lives stand as a personal challenge to us...

Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

As in life, so now in Jan's death,
God is being glorified.

Waiting for His coming with you...
